Please note that anyone who adopts a dog through ABR must sign an agreement that they agree and will follow the terms below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADOPTION 


I shall assume full responsibility as the guardian of said dog, including the cost of any veterinary treatment which may be necessary and also the neutering/spaying (if not already done) of said dog at a time deemed suitable by my veterinary surgeon. I understand that no pedigree/registration papers will be handed over and that any such pedigree papers remain the property of ABR. IF AT ANY TIME I am unable to keep the above named dog, I hereby undertake to arrange to give the dog back to ABR immediately. If I change address I agree to inform ABR and furnish them with my new address and contact details as soon as possible.

I agree that should any of the following not be adhered to, ABR have the right to take said dog back into their care immediately and my donation will not be refunded to me.


1) The dog should be fed an appropriate diet and be well nourished
2) The dog should not be beaten at any time
3) The dog will not be used for showing or breeding purposes
4) The dog should not be left alone for long periods of time on a regular, or even occasional, basis
5) The dog should not be allowed to wander or roam freely outside of it’s guardians property unaccompanied
6) The dog should be housed inside, have access to comfortable bedding and be kept free from the cold
7) The dog should not be found to be in a neglected condition at any time
8) If the dog or you, the guardian of the dog, are found to be involved in any illegal practices (ie. dog-fighting) the said dog will be removed immediately and legal action will be taken against you
9) The dog should not be allowed to become a nuisance to members of the general public (ie. through allowing constant barking or unacceptable behaviour by the dog)
10) The dog will be spayed or neutered if not already done so as soon as a vet deems it a suitable time.
11) You will periodically allow an agent of ABR to visit you at a convenient time and with notice to see the dog.
12) The dog will be chipped and you will pass on the chip number to ABR
13) You will not give the dog to a 3rd party
